Where will my dog sleep?

Each dog has their own preference. You are welcome to bring their own bed from home or we have some here. Our visiting friends often like to sleep with their host, Toshi, at the side of our bed. We do not confine dogs unless we are instructed that they prefer to be crated.

When will my dog eat?

We typically do feedings twice a day, but always follow your instructions and limit each dog's food to their parent's instructions.

Question 3

Will my dog be left alone?

We are in the country and your dog will be accompanied. We work from home. We engage with all our dogs throughout the day and they are not left alone.

What happens if I need to extend my stay?

We try our best to accommodate all request, but we ask that you let us know as soon as possible.

Will you send me photos of my dog?

Yes! We love to send you updates with photos, but if you prefer that we don't just let us know!

Question 6

What happens if my dog gets sick or has an accident?

Accepted Answer

We are always observing your dog (and ours). If we feel there is something wrong and/or there is an accident we will immediately contact you. We encourage you to have pet insurance and share with us your policy information.

If an emergency occurs, we will take your dog to a specialized ER center so that your dog can be assessed professionally. We will contact you with the medical assessment and options. We will share the facility's estimate.

It is preferable that you pay for all vet expenses directly to the facility. If for some reason you are unable to do this because of international travel, you will be responsible for reimbursing CT Dogsitting as soon as possible. No expenses will be incurred without your approval.

Will my dog go on walks?

We live by several natural preserves and daily take our dog on an active walk. If your dog enjoys walks, they will join us. For more senior dogs and/or special needs dogs, we walk them on our property.

We also have a large fenced in area that allows them to get fresh air. During the colder months, we have a large finished basement that has entertainment for both humans and dogs.

Pick Up/Drop off Service

We can provide pick up and drop off service to NYC for stays of over a week.

How do I pay?

We gladly receive cash or Venmo.

What will my dog eat?

Accepted Answer

You are responsible for providing all food & treats. We don't give any dogs human food (including Toshi). You can bring the food at drop off or have it delivered directly by an online vendor like Chewy. If you are away for an extended time, we will let you know when it is time to refill. We always follow your feeding instructions.
